Days with Development team

we've finished our session with the development team of Therap Services Ltd. under the supervision of Nazrul vai (Developer & System Analyst). I've learned about many new terms in software development, many software tools those they use & overall process of development..

first of all we got an idea about web base application. java is widely used in this kind of application developing. because java application can be run at any operating system easily. in this case J2EE platform is used worldwide, even in Therap.
open source software are becoming popular day by day. most of the software used in software development are open source software.sourceForge.net, code.google.com are two popular site to get  open source code & submit.every year google arrange a program named "Google Summer Of Code" where university students all over the world get opportunity to participate with their open source project,work on it and if their project accepted then get a handsome amount of money!!!
then we came to know about Tomcat, that is a web server tool. it is needed to run an web application.we download & apply in our project.
Github- a source control management system.it is very necessary open source software when we work on team to marge codes.Gerrit is another source control management application.we completed our assignment on Github and found it is really interesting & useful. 

Scrum- a strategy that is used in many software farm in developing a project.it is generally used in Iterative Development model in software development.
Coding convention- is an important term in programming.it is actually a set of guidelines of a programming language.when we have to work in a farm along with a team, it is necessary to maintain a common style in writing codes with a particular language so that other developers can easily understand my work.conventions includes file organizations, declarations, naming of methods & variables etc.

also had a little idea about private key & public key of cryptography.private key for encrypting data & public key for decrypting.

Clustering- cluster environment refers to distribution of workload of server.2 types of clustering like horizontal & vertical. most of server use horizontal clustering.

ANT- Another Neat Tool. it is an Apache software tool for automating software build process. it needs java platform. it is an open source software.
Log4J-it is a java based logging utility.

Servlet- an important term in web application.A servlet is a Java programming language class used to extend the capabilities of servers that host applications accessed via a request-response programming model. A Servlet is a Java class in Java EE that conforms to the Java Servlet API, a protocol by which a Java class may respond to requests.

At last we develop a small web application using servlet that is a Calculator !!!we use Tomcat as web server in this case.

Day-5

5th day, that means yesterday we had the last session with developer team. we learned some new terms like- ANT- Another Neat Tool. it is an Apache software tool for automating software build process. it needs java platform. it is an open source software.
Log4J-it is a java based logging utility.it seems little difficult to me.I'm still confuse about its work.
then Nazrul vai (System Analyst, Therap Services Ltd) gave us some study materials those are really necessary to know if we are willing to work in software farm.moreover those are really useful for any CSE student...
JSP, Servlets, MVC(design pattern) these important terms i should learn.we are given a project that to make a calculator using JAVA web application where we can get an idea about servlet,JSP.
i along with my group members will start our project from today hopefully.... :-)

Day-4

4th day at Therap was little busy & important. me along with my team submitted our GIThub assignment. i hope we have completed our task successfully..!!! but most important thing is that I've earned a primary knowledge on how to use GIThub for working on a project with others.

then we get an idea about web base application. we are told to make a small web base application software. today i will have an elaborate discussion on it & may be will start our job.

unit test is a testing strategy. here every component is tested primarily by developer.
at end of the day we had a session with Shahrin apu who gave us a brief about HIPPA law & we signed in an agreement.

Day-3

on 3rd day in therap i've come to know about 2 software for managing server & network. they are Nagios & Cacti. Nagios basically is used to find bugs, errors (physical / virtual) in server. Cacti is a graphical solution for tracing out errors, usages , loads etc. for server. not only for web base server application but also in home PC, we can use this software to monitor our network connection!!! i wish to install Nagios in my PC as I'm interested in network... :-) Then our supervisor gave a task to open an account on GIT Hub , which is a source control application. Source control application is needed in any software  farm as well as in open source programming. through this application many people can work on a single code or program and marge them to fix an ultimate goal.
oh, we learn how to work in a team in a software farm..it is quite different how we worked on a project at our class/ lab.. we also learn some important terms like Scrum, Coading Convention. we are told to study on these terms... so i have to learn more..

Day-2

today is my 3rd day @ Therap,but I'm writing about my 2nd day that means yesterday. 2nd day was 1st step of our learning. I along with my group members learned about Unix team & their works. it was so much interesting that they control & monitor the server situated in USA , sitting in dhaka, Bangladesh. i was surprised to know that. the server is monitored by Unix team members 24 hours. it is a remote operation. would i think ever that a server situated in one corner of world can be maintained from another corner of the world !! this team has high level programmer & highly skilled persons.
then after lunch break we got a briefing from Nazrul vai (developer & System Eng. @ Therap). we have come to know about kind of programming languages which are used in Therap. It is really interesting know how a software is developing day by day through may stages.
well, its 3rd day & hope we will learn about database management process in Therap.

Day-1

it's my first day at Therap (bd) Ltd. as a trainee.. i was so much tensed about this day & finally I've faced it.First meeting with Therap members was comfortable & cordial.everybody there are helpful & casual.so i think i can continue my 3 weeks training there easily. but I'm surprised seeing there works.actually it's huge.the effort,the time, the patience- they have to give there, really surprised me.i never thought like this.i am afraid that could i work like them at my practical life in future!!  we are told to have an overall idea about software development.it will be interesting,i hope.I'm eagerly waiting learn...
